As the chairman, you are the face of the association. Together with the other board members you represent the Honours students and their interests. You are responsible for the functioning of the board and supporting of other board members if necessary. The internal meetings are led by you and therefore you make a weekly agenda. Moreover, you will be the first point of call at most external meetings, for example with other study associations, but also during general assemblies. It’s important that you can keep a good overview of all activities and other things that you will have to do. Planning-skills and setting priorities are very important as well. Furthermore, you will ensure that the policy is implemented. So, if you are not afraid to take on a challenge and if you are able to stimulate and motivate others, please apply for this function.
Secretary

As the secretary, you are first of all the main contact person of the association, so you are responsible for most of the communication, both digital and postal. You pass on correspondences to other board members, you make appointments for the board and you have an overview charge of the board’s appointment calendar. In addition, you write the monthly newsletter and reports of the association. Your second task is the association’s administration (excluding the financial). You are writing minutes at every meeting, note the tasks of every board member and you are in charge of the board’s documents.

Treasurer

The treasurer of HCSA is responsible for all the finances and legal issues that arise. This means that you have to create a budget, keep track of all cash flows, debit participation fees, arrange insurance if necessary, create contracts, aid the treasurers of the committees and everything else you can come up with. In addition, the treasurer is tasked with maintaining the financial archive of the association. As the treasurer of the board you have to make responsible decisions and make that everything is done as efficient as possible, always aiming at the lowest cost possible.

Commissioner of Internal Affairs

The Internal Affairs-position is about all things that happen within an association. This means that in practice, you will be the one responsible for all committee-related things. These include installing new committees and their members and improving the general committee policy. Also, you will function as the main contact person for all communications between the board and the committees. Do you like teamwork and being part of the creative process of various groups? Then this is a position for you.

Commissioner of External Affairs

The Commissioner of External Affairs handles the communication and presentation of HCSA outside of the association. In this function, you deal with approaching companies for collaboration with HCSA and acquisition. You are also the person who keeps in touch with other study associations and organisations like the University Council. As Commissioner of External Affairs, you are also expected to be present at most board-related activities, like constitutional drinks. At HCSA, the Commissioner of External Affairs is also responsible for all the promotion, including Facebook and our website.
