This lecture is given by RUG professor dr. Nienke de Deugd. She is an expert on the European Union Neighbourhood Policy and Ukraine’s relationship with the EU, NATO and Russia. She also acts as the Treasurer on the board of the Centre for European Security Studies.
During the lecture, she will trace the history of the political tension that built up between Ukraine and Russia and explain how this led to the current crisis.
